Spring Song
00:00 / 00:35

"Sea Song" is about my mom who died in January 2024. I usually cry when I sing it, so I don't too often. To be adrift, utterly unmoored, searching in every moment for someone that will never return, while at the same time trying to forget they ever existed. May 2024 -- Capri -- Eugene, OR E A Some wind is calling us across the sea The lights of oil barges guiding me F#M D A A weight is lifted off my shoulders when You say let's never go back home again A D Your face it disappears into the dark You were never here but you still leave a mark And every home I try to grow is missing you With every star that crossed my heart I wish for you E D A Maybe now it's time I head to bed Burrow deep and dream a life instead F#M D A I can't bear to miss another thing When I'm gone will someone dream of me

Spring Song
00:00 / 00:35

"Spring Song" is one of the first songs I felt was really complete. I recorded it while living in my chaotic college apartment in Oregon during one of the few periods of my life where I wasn't clinically depressed. It's about friendship. May 2021 -- The 515 -- Eugene, OR E A The wind is blowing us across the sea The lights of oil barges guiding me F#M D A A weight is lifted off my shoulders when You say let's never go back home again A D Your face it disappears into the dark You were never here but you still leave a mark And every home I try to grow is missing you With every star that crossed my heart I wish for you E D A Maybe now it's time I head to bed Burrow deep and dream a life instead F#M D A I can't bear to miss another thing When I'm gone will someone dream of me

Ballad 2
00:00 / 03:38

"Ballad 2" is about reuniting with my high school best friend / love 5 years post devastating break up. We went on this road trip from Oregon to California and a bunch of weird shit happened, most notably concerning fire escapes and the grimiest hostel in all of San Francisco. It was an incredibly healing experience. Unfortunately though, our story still ends in tragedy : he is now a white boy trying to act black. I'm talking corn rows, rapping, blaccent... He was different back then I swear. (October 2020 - the 515 -Eugene, OR) A, A+, A+ His broken hands, my messy hair Cloudy heads and a filthy floor Holes in the walls, break the bed A, A7 What can I call you anymore Bm7 My something A It's a simple wanting Call you my something It's really what I've always wanted Did it mean anything Your arms around me just because your cold Dig up old memories But that's not me, she's buried in the backyard But it's too soon to decide, City lights have got me high up on the rooftops I'm singing songs for you And I still can't hold a tune But I could still hold you If it's what you wanted Just to call you something Raining on the rooftops You're my San Francisco But I can't hold back the moon, The sun she's rising soon to make you a morning, You're waking up without me You'll have a new day Live a life without me But I can't hold back the moon The sun she's rising soon to make me a morning I'm waking up without you I'll have a new day Live a life without you Guess it's what I'm used to But I'll never want to
